Deer Hunting in South Dakota is all about Location

Location is paramount to successful deer hunting in South Dakota. Rock Creek Ranch offers 12,000 contiguous acres of hunting paradise, surrounded on all four sides by the Rosebud Indian Reservation. This area is abundant in Mule deer and Whitetail deer. And although not known for Boone and Crockett records, we do get sizeable heavy horned antlers. These deer are smarter and will test your skill as a hunter requiring you to hunt longer and harder for them. But when you do find them, it is not uncommon to see herds of 20 deer or more. The permits are available from either the South Dakota Game Commission or from the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. This private land is definitely a hunter’s paradise.

Limited Deer Hunting in South Dakota

Rock Creek Ranch only allows four hunters per season and you must apply early to get a permit. Unlike public hunting lands, these deer hunting trips are fully guided without the rugged terrain of mountain deer hunting. Best yet, Rock Creek Ranch offers a nearly 100% chance of getting a deer on your trip. Don’t miss out, book your trip today.
